Health IT Lab at UMBC will hire undergraduate research assistants (RAs) with strong web application programming skills and interests to participate in research projects in the area of health informatics. Among others, the responsibilities of the position will involve working in Linux environment and writing scripts in Javascript, HTML5, CSS, Tcl, Gnuplot, and Standard Query Language (SQL).
 
The undergrad students in all programs in  the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science and Electrical Engineering with a primary interest in making information useful to the stakeholders in healthcare are encouraged to apply.
 
Health IT  Lab at  UMBC was established by Dr. Koru (http://drkoru.us) to provide a uniquely strong learning environment which, over the years, has supported a large number of undergrad and  grad students in completing their degrees and preparing for a successful professional career. The lab is a widely known, recognized, and important hub of the health IT research activities  related to leveraging information systems and technology to reduce health care costs, increase the quality of care, and improve the health outcomes. The lab members have received various recognition and awards for their academic  and professional work presented at various conferences and journals.
