Learning Health Systems: Special Issue

We have organized a special issue for the Learning Health Systems journal about computable biomedical knowledge artifacts (CBK)s. CBKs will play an increasingly important role in the future of learning health systems enabling mass action in moving from knowledge to performance [1]. Furthermore, broadly publishing peer-reviewed CBKs can contribute to open and reproducible science in biomedical informatics. The URL is below:

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/23796146/softwareartifacts-cfp?

We solicit two types of submissions:

1) Software artifact submissions focused on a functioning exemplar of CBK.  Running code of the exemplar will be submitted and, if accepted, following peer review, published along with a short paper describing the artifact.

2) Method submissions focused on the theory and practice of employing CBK to improve health and health care.

Please get in touch with us at gkoru@uams.edu (Güneş) or cpfried@umich.edu (Chuck) for any questions. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2023.

And please do not hesitate to inform your colleagues who might be interested in this special issue.

Best wishes,
